My name is Richard Rogers and during the nineteen-fifties
I was living in Birch Grove, Upper Halliford. I was a pupil at Nursey
Road primary school and took the 11+ exam in 1958 (form J1), afterwards
going on to Sunbury Grammar school for just two terms before my
family moved down to
Bournemouth.
Since 1977 I have been living and working in Cornwall.
If anyone from those far off days would like to contact me I
am sure there are some memories that we could share.

| Herbert William Goodwill |
My name is Charlotte Goodwill, I have been researching
into my family tree
because i know very little information about my grandfather. However
after
lots of searching i found the record of his death and applied for
the

where he
was working as a chef, his name was Herbert William Goodwill and
he died on
9th December 1969. I am planning a trip to Shepperton, however would
be
grateful of any information anyone has, prehaps you were living
in
Shepperton at the time or you knew him.
My e-mail address is charleigh411@hotmail.com
and would appreciate any

I was enquiring as to whether you would be able
to help me. Both my
grandparents lived in Shepperton for over 45 years, up until 1986/7,
and my
mother was born there.
A large number of relatives also lived in Shepperton. I have
just met up
with one of my cousins from Australia who remembers a big fire
in Shepperton
when she was about 4 (which would have been around 1940 to 1950).
Would you
be able to shed any light on this, or where I would be able to
find some
information or old local newspapers from?
Many Thanks for your co-operation.
Miss. M Brown.

| Tom Staunton |
In 1934 my great-uncle Louis Adolphus Edmonds,
who had an auctioneers and estate agency called Whiffen & Co.,
died. Later my great-aunt Lottie visited us in Bournemouth and we,
in turn, spent happy times with her and her wonderful family at
High Elms in Broadlands Avenue, Shepperton. I know that the two
older boys, Louis Grosvenor and John Dudley, were killed in WW2
and that other members of the family are no longer with us, but
I should be delighted to renew acquaintance with any of my cousins
who are still living, or to hear from anybody who knew the family.

| Mary Palmer |
I have been resident in Shepperton since 1941
when my parents moved here, apart from a break of 11
years. I attended Shepperton Green School from 1944 until
about 1951 and then I went to Ashford County Grammar. Because
of this and having to go to Harefield Hospital for 13 months,
I lost contact with many of my former school friends. I was
a regular member of Shepperton Youth Club when it was held in
the Rifle Range and later in the Village Hall. I have two brothers
- Owen and Peter whom some of you may remember. I have returned
to buy my parent's house in Squires Road and have been meeting
up with old school friends all the time. If any have moved abroad
and would like news of long lost school friends - then please
do ask. I helped organise a Squires Road reunion for residents
who had lived there in the 1940/50s. It was a great success
and we traced 38 people who attended the reunion in the St John
Fisher Hall in July 1999.
If anyone out there remembers me and would like
to contact me by e-mail - please do

| Alan Yates |
My family lived in Charlton Road until about 1963
with my parents, Roy and Patricia Yates, my sisters Ann, Sally
and Jill, and my uncle and aunt, Steve and Marie Kavanagh. I
recall that the Bagnall family were neighbours. I would be interested
to hear from anyone who remembers my family. I was christened
at St Nicholas Church and remember visiting the pig farm at
the end of Carlton Road, and the ford that we called the "Watersplash"
that was presumably the River Ash. Charlton Road has now been
cut in half by the motorway and the farm has become a nursery.

| Reeder |
Is there anyone who would please be able to tell
me anything about a family with the surname of Reeder who lived
at "St. Kilda", Crescent Road, Shepperton-on-Thames
in 1916? The son of the family, George Thomas, died in
World War I in Egypt and my grandfather's diary mentions him
as a good friend. I thought I might try to find any descendants
and pass on a copy of the diary.

| I was born and grew up in Shepperton,
and I used to live in Gaston Bridge Road. I have been living in
the USA for the last 34 years. I'd love to hear from former friends.
I went to Shepperton C.of E. school ( St.Nicholas ) until transferred
to Matthew Arnold in Staines at the age of 11. We were all bussed
over to Staines every day from Green Lane.
At the age of 13 I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the
Engineering School at Twickenham Technical College ( now called
Richmond College of Technology I believe ).
I completed the 3 years and joined Vickers-Armstrongs ( Aircraft
) Ltd. as an apprentice for 5 years where I continued to work
for a total of 13 years. Had an offer I couldn't refuse from the
Boeing Co. in Seattle, Washington and duly emigrated to the Seattle
area in 1967. Have been here ever since and retired from Boeing
2 years ago. My American born wife is just retiring this week
after 32 years at Boeing , now we can enjoy it together.
As you probably heard in the Media we had a severe earthquake
this week in Seattle (6.8 on the Richter scale ) but we did not
suffer any significant damage.

| Stephen Lock |
| My father's family lived in Shepperton
for about 150years, first Squires Bridge Road Farm and later Ash
Road. My father Mark Lock who used to live on property on Ash
Road left Shepperton around 8 years ago.
I was born in Shepperton and have not been back for around 14
years. Looking into it then, I would be interested to hear from
anyone from St Nicholas School (1977-1981) or at Thamesmead School
(1981-1985); before I left for Charterhouse School, Godalming.
I am also trying to trace my father and would value any clues.
I am also interested in contacting two former teachers of mine:
Rosalind Rochefort - St Nicholas School in the early 1980's and
Sally Ingram - Thamesmead in the mid 1980's.
