Shepperton Home Page

Here is the latest news on what has been added to the site.

30.08.01

Important News!
If you have been visiting the site regularly you will have noticed that the updates haven't been as regular or as detailed as usual. Well, this is because I have had to move from the Shepperton area and am now living in Yorkshire. You might think it a bit odd to be working on this web site, but I have put in a lot of time and effort in the last  two years; and I would like to keep things going.
So why Yorkshire? I've decided to go to University and get a BSc in Computing. At 37 its all a bit daunting, but I'm sure I'll manage. So with my new found knowledge I should be able to make the site even better for everyone. Just don't expect things to change overnight!

If you feel like helping out and are keen for the site to keep going, please send me information for the site, particularly the What's On info. Adding the information to the site is easy, the difficult part for me is getting the information in the first place.

If you have any questions about the site, please e-mail me.

10.3.01

I've had to remove the vote page. The company running it have withdrawn their free service. Now I just have to find a new home for the Guest Book!

3.3.01

There are two new pages on the web site. The first is a 'jobs' page for any of our local companies to post details of local vacancies and also for anyone offering their services. The second new page is a reunion page. So if you have lost touch with any old friends, leave a message there and see what happens.

20.2.01

I've added a lot more clubs and groups to the clubs page. I have had to split this into tow pages now as there were just too many and the page was taking too long to load. Keep an eye on these pages as I do have even more information to add. There is also a new page for Spelthorne Civic Pride Volunteers  and also there is a new page for volunteer groups that need volunteers. Please also see my voting page  (Now removed); I want  to hear which parts of the site you like. You can continue to email your comments to me,

9.2.01

I've added a lot more information to the Shepperton Village Fair Page.

16.1.01

I've fixed the link to the bulletin board from the home page. I've also added, amongst other things, details of dentists in Shepperton. If you know of any that I've missed please let me know.

16.12.00

Well, it has been a year since Shepperton Info started and hopefully the site 'feels' OK and there aren't too many problems finding your way around. I've replaced the Bulletin Board again. Of all the things on the site, this seems to give me the most problems. So I'm starting again from scratch! There are some more pictures of the recent floods; will it ever stop? There is a new page of letters with News and Local Interest stories. If you have something to add, please let me know.

3.12.00

I've changed the layout of the business pages to make it all a bit clearer. Also, I've removed some of the graphics to help things load a little bit quicker. There is a new page for the Shepperton Village Fair, which will be bringing updates on the fair throughout the year.

4.10.00
I haven't updated this page for a while but there have been plenty of things happening. I have a new page for The Swan Sanctuary in Egham. Also some information about Surrey County Councils 'Do Your Bit' campaign, encouraging people to recycle things and reduce some of the rubbish going into landfill. Also you can now add your own page to the web site. Just follow my easy to follow instructions. (I hope) and your page can be on here in a few days.

29.8.00

New look for the site with. Hope you like it. I've removed a couple of items which I thought weren't necessary. I've added a mailing list. Just enter your E-mail address and be kept up to date with local events.

20.8.00

I have been away for a while, but should be able to catch up soon.
New businesses added.

8.7.00

New 'For Sale' board added. Advertise anything here.

2.7.00

There's a new search button on the business pages. I've added a few pictures from around Shepperton. New additions to the club section.

24.6.00

More pictures added from the fair, and a lot more clubs have been added to the site.

19.6.00

First pictures from Shepperton Fair added.

14.6.00

New Poll Added.

3.6.00

Details of the Sunbury & Shepperton Arts Festival added.

29.5.00

21.5.00

6.5.00

I've added a Local News page with articles taken from the local press, so if you miss them in print you can find them on here. There will be several more stories being added over the weekend.

27.4.00

I've added a new page with details of the Shepperton Fair which will be held on the 10th June. You can now also add details of your Neighbourhood Watch group to my database.

18.4.00

I've introduced a small charge for adding your business details to the site. It is still free for voluntary groups and charities.

12.4.00

I now have a fax number to send me your information.

11.4.00

The Newsletter of St. Nicholas' Church has been added to the site. So far I have only added the monthly letter from Chris Swift, but if you would like more information please let me know.

26.3.00

Neighbourhood Watch Bulletin board added to site. Leave messages here about anything suspicious you see in Shepperton. There are also links to other NH sites in the UK and overseas. Plus information about safeguarding your property if you follow the link.

21.3.00

I've now replaced the old bulletin board so you don't have to log into any 'third party' to leave a message. Have a look at what they say. And feel free to add your comments or start a completely new subject.

18.3.00

I've changed the layout for the welcome page this week. I've moved the information about myself to a separate page. So if you are interested in the person behind this page, then have a look at the 'Your host' page.

I've added a new web poll. Now you can vote on local issues. I've started off by asking about all of the cars that are being abandoned in Shepperton. They seem to be all over the place and are left for weeks by the road side or in car parks. What do you think. Take part in my poll. Or if you feel strongly about it, contact the local councillors. I have!

If I get enough responses, I'll pass on the results to the local councillors. If you'd like to see a poll on any other subject, then let me know and I'll add it for you.

I've joined a couple of 'web rings'; these should be up and running in the next few days. Now you can link to other towns and villages. Have a look!

I've added a lot of events to my What's On page, it must be a busy time of year though a couple of them are in November. I have added a few events which are outside of Shepperton, for a little bit of variety. Don't forget that you can let me know of your own events by sending me an E-mail or sending me a flyer to the address shown.

The search function has also moved to it's own page. This will display the results much more clearly than before. There are a few hidden pages, so don't be surprised if there's information not about Shepperton. That's just me taking advantage of the MS Server Extensions!
